Abortion Ad on Obama

September 17, 2008

Watch bornalivetruth.org commercial concerning Obama’s position on “Life”

For those of us who continually promote and defend a culture of life within this great state and abroad, is there really any choice as to who is the best candidate for President of these United State of America?

NY Times & Ohio Right to Life

September 8, 2008

The NY Times ran a front page story on Sunday (“Rival Tickets are Redrawing Battlegrounds”) in which Ohio Right to Life stated that the groundswell for the McCain/Palin ticket is enormous.

“Thursday morning our phones started ringing about how do we get involved, where are the phone banks, where is the literature to distribute,” said Mike Gonidakis, executive director of Ohio Right to Life, explaining that many people had been motivated by Ms. Palin’s convention speech on Wednesday night. “It’s amazing to see the attitude and enthusiasm — especially compared with what it was about 10 days ago.”

Folks, with less than 60 days to go, it is imperative for all Pro-Life men and women to work extremely hard to get our candidates across teh finish line.

A Catholic Priest’s “Letter to Democrats”

September 4, 2008

Father Jonathan Morris wrote a letter entitled, “Letter to Democrats on Abortion.”

Just days before the convention, your presumptive nominee said it was beyond his pay-grade-scientifically or theologically-to know when babies get rights. Then your Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, said that as a fervent Catholic she too has struggled long and hard with the issue, but has now come to agree with a 4th century theologian’s take on human embryology, that pre-born things aren’t human babies (with the right to continue living) because of their supposed incapacity for sensation (St. Augustine’s antiquated argument).

Something very serious was happening. Two very smart people, at the highest levels of your Party, were pointing to science and theology as having something to say about the abortion debate. Yes, Senator Obama and Speaker Pelosi were saying that determining the physical and moral status of a human embryo actually matters. But strangely, Obama hasn’t cared enough to clear up his many doubts and Pelosi has decided to accept the view of an African theologian who lived 1,600 years ago.

This letter is very compelling and worthy of further discussion.  Hopefully, it will have an effect on those Americans who plan on voting for their party for no other reason than they’ve always voted for their party.

Palin Energizes the Base!

September 4, 2008

Jonah Goldberg at the National Review wrote a terrific article (“Palin Lights Fire Under GOP Backers”):

Last week, Obama’s running mate, Joe Biden, gave his speech about families huddled around their kitchen tables trying to make ends meet. The next day, McCain settled on Palin, who can claim to be part of such a family. Her husband is a member of the United Steelworkers. She got her start as a PTA activist and hockey mom who took on the corrupt Alaskan political machine. Unlike Obama, who played ball with the notorious Chicago machine, Palin took aim at the bosses of her own party.

The Obama campaign smugly and foolishly ridicules Palin’s work as a small-town mayor. But who can better empathize with working families: Biden, a trial-lawyer-friendly senator since the Jurassic era, or a woman with five kids and a blue-collar spouse? Obama performed badly with working-class rural voters in the primaries. “The Pride of Scranton” Biden is supposed to help on that front. Ridiculing small towns might not help the cause.

All Pro-Life advocates within the great Buckeye State take notice of Governor Palin, a devoted mother, executive and Pro-Life national leader!

The Palin SMEAR Campaign

September 3, 2008

Accoridng to FOXNEWS.com, Us Weekly releases a scathing cover of McCain VP pick Sarah Palin — but two months ago it was all roses for the Obamas

Just another example of how blatant and unbelieveable the liberal media is treating Governor Palin.  By the way, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has FIVE (5) CHILDREN.  Pelosi is 2 heartbeats away from the White House, yet NO ONE in the media is scrutinizing her as they do Governor Palin.

Pro-Life Governor Palin’s Experience Factor

September 3, 2008

See what former US Speaker of the House and Pro-Life advocate Newt Gingrich had to say about Governor Palin’s Experience.

It is rather shameful that the LIBERAL media is demonizing Governor Palin and calling her “extreme” for being Pro-Life, Pro-Family and a MOTHER of 5 Children.

DeWine, Portman & Kasich – The “Other” Race

September 3, 2008

From Joe Hallett at the Columbus Dispatch:

Former Sen. Mike DeWine of Cedarville and former U.S. Reps. John R. Kasich of Westerville and Rob Portman of Cincinnati are wooing the roughly 500 Ohioans here for the convention, a contingent that encompasses the most influential members of the Ohio GOP.

Kasich and Portman are spending thousands of dollars to host Ohio delegation breakfasts.

Kasich, especially, has been active this year as a fundraiser and speaker at political events across the Buckeye State.

Portman said his PAC, Ohio’s Future, “helps me to keep my options open” for possible runs for governor or U.S. Senate. But he quickly added that he hasn’t decided what he is going to do and his focus this year is solely on aiding McCain and other GOP candidates.

Most delegates interviewed said it’s too early to align with a candidate for governor, but a number said the party needs new blood and many view Kasich and Portman, both in their early 50s, as the party’s next generation of leaders.

While there is much time and important work to do before anyone starts focusing on 2010, it sure is refreshing to see these three Pro-Life individuals all seriously considering a run at Pro-Abortion Governor Ted Strickland.  Mike DeWine has a strong Pro-Life record and so does Rob Portman.  We have been told that John Kasich is also Pro-Life.

Bottom line, Ohio Right to Life has a  great opportunity to make their voices heard and support the best pro-life candidate for Governor 2010.

The Case for Palin as VP

September 2, 2008

Last Friday Ohio Right to Life and many of its statewide grassroots members had the opportunity to attend the announcement of Senator John McCain’s announcement of Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.

Senator McCain introduces Governor Palin to Ohio!

Senator McCain introduces Governor Palin to Ohio!

Governor Palin is a perfect choice for Senator McCain as her Pro-Life, Pro-Family credentials are impeccable.  Ohio Right to Life offered its opinion of Governor Palin to the Columbus Dispatch  stating the following:
Ohio Right to Life Executive Director Mike Gonidakis praised McCain’s choice, saying Palin will energize social conservatives: “It’s a definite game-changer, not only for the pro-life movement, but for the (GOP) base here in Ohio.”

Tragically, the liberal media (See CNN, NBC) have already begun its unfettered smear campaign against Palin making wild accusations about her son Trig, diagnosed with Down Syndrome.  Sadly, the liberal media is also calling into question her commitment to her children and outwardly questioning (seriously) whether a mother of five children can do this job!

This is an absolute insult and an attack on all working mothers.  The media should be ashamed.  Where is NOW and other Pro-Women organizations and why are they not coming to the defense of Governor Palin and all working mothers?

Indeed my friends, Governor Palin is a “game-changer” for this election.  McCain/Palin, our pro-life candidates for the highest office, will not only win Ohio, but a majority of Americans hearts and minds!
